The Middle

Hi I'm James and this is my blog slim run play which is about my health and fitness. This isn't the beginning for me. Three years ago I was a shade over 18 stone, 260lbs or so and precious little was capable of much. I'd crept up and up to this weight over time due to bad diet, little exercise and a feeling that it was OK to be heavy - not like my life required much fitness.Today I'm around 14 stone, 190lbs or so. My goal is to be 12 stone.

I started very half heatedly to loose weight and over the years its crept down. Along the way I've taken up walking and then jogging. I wish I could say I was in my home stretch and that like a good distance runner I am here to brag about my negative split. Instead what I'm here to do is share tips and things I have learned as well as those I find elsewhere. I'm going to be talking about equipment, exercises I do and food I eat.

Along with me is my fiance Elle. She's much newer having only started Jan 1st. A lot of what I do is geared around getting her up to speed with simple exercises that really work. I have her permission to share some helpful anecdotes with readers. Really the way I've been able to help her has given me the confidence to come here and try this.

Overall I'm doing this because health and fitness is a long road - there seem to be no quick fixes - and only a hero or a fool travels it alone.
